There was much to accomplish in the daylight hours yesterday. There was blogging and slow-stitching, and then, I wanted to get at least a start on the next section of the pansy mosaic before I took off for my monthly pedicure. There was also a refueling stop, and a mailbox stop, and grocery shopping to do. What's a cat lady to do?
Well, first, Smitty moved his morning sunbath to the window next to my desk as I was writing my blog post yesterday. He was purrtesting the slow start to his morning hunting expedition.
When we went down stairs...let's just say "chomping at the bit" doesn't begin to describe it.
With them set free, I went to work on the 8th of 10 sections for the pansy mosaic. I was on the third of seven 4 x 4's when time ran out. It was laid out for sewing, and so I covered it with a ruler...just in case a big wind came up, or something.
After that, I headed out taking care of all my errands. It was one of those days where I should probably have been outfitted with red lights and a siren in the grocery store. Fortunately, no innocent bystanders were mowed down by my speeding shopping cart.
When I got home, it took a couple more hours, and I had the 8th section finished. Here's how it's looking now. The yellow pansy is finished.
Now that it's getting to be a larger quilt, we're having to enforce the no-flying-quilts rule. Sadie took the first shift.
Today will be much the same as yesterday, except today I'm going on a fabric shopping expedition. It's urgently important that I spend my birthday discount at my favorite nearby quilt shop, Boersma's. I'm only looking for homespun, but you know how it goes when you walk into a quilt shop and all the bolts of fabric start vying for your attention. "Me! Me! Me!" they call out. Or maybe I'm the only one who can hear that. After all, I live with talking cats.
